Doosan and Joe Gibbs Racing Renew Sponsorship

For the twelfth straight year, Doosan Infracore remains the official machine tool supplier for Joe Gibbs Racing, and the racing program's largest and longest running technical sponsor.

Doosan’s contribution is critical to the racing team’s accomplishments. “It takes consistency and performance to win a championship,” says Mark Bringle, Gibbs’ Technical Sponsor Manager. “Doosan has totally changed the way Joe Gibbs Racing does business. The concept-to-car objective is now done in days instead of weeks. The quick turn-around time and quality of our parts allows JGR to keep propriety designs in house. There are over 2,000 such parts needed weekly to keep our teams going, and 85% of them are made in house on Doosan equipment.

Bringle continues. “Since we began our association in 1998, Gibbs has placed racers in the top 10 every year, including three Cup champions and one Nationwide Championship. This past year the team recorded 23 wins in 71 events, a fifth place finish in the Sprint Cup Series and championship in the Nationwide Series.”

Visitors to the team’s headquarters in Huntersville, NC will see more than 19 Doosan machine tools hard at work, including 4 turning centers, 11 vertical machining centers, 3 horizontals, and a just recently installed a Puma MX 2500ST mill-turn to do advanced precision machining.
