Machine Tool Field Service Technician (South Bend, Indiana)

A leading machine tool distributor serving the manufacturing industry for over 50 years is looking for a highly motivated, customer oriented individual to join its field service team in Northwest Indiana.   

A Field Service Technician has the responsibility to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair and install CNC lathes and machining centers sold by the company.  The primary products sold are Makino machining centers, Doosan lathes and machining centers, Tsugami Swiss machines, and Hermle machining centers.  The maintenance of the equipment requires background in electronics, electrical maintenance, mechanical maintenance, hydraulics & pneumatics, computer knowledge (both hardware and software) and the use of test equipment (metrology).  Prior experience or training in a factory or machine shop / tool & die, or technical training through the military or a technical college is a plus.  The candidate must be a self-starter, possess strong communication skills, be customer oriented and be able to work independently in a proactive sales and customer service environment.
