Advancing Manufacturing Productivity Since 1952.
Technical Equipment Sales (TES) was founded in 1952 by Richard Robinson
and shortly thereafter began representing equipment like the Leblond
lathe line in the local marketplace. In 1966, the Pratt Whitney
line was added as the business transitioned to focus on NC and EDM
technologies. During that time, Mr. Robinson quickly realized that
tremendous productivity gains were offered by the numerically controlled
(NC) machines that his company was selling. The future was realized,
then, as TES began helping its customers implement the new NC technology
in order to maximize the overall benefits of the more productive
machinery.
Around 1982, TES shifted its entire focus over
towards CNC machine tool technology. It was in 1985 when the Daewoo
line of CNC machines was added to the portfolio and Technical Automation,
a GMF Robotics Integrator, was born. The combination of state of
the art CNC machine tools and Robotic automation allowed TES to
live on the cutting edge of technology. This desire to embrace capabilities
that manufacturers wanted further enhanced Tech’s role in
the market as a provider of solutions that facilitated competitive
advantage.
In 1992, TES was acquired by the Morris Group
of companies. With a new partner and a dynamic 1990’s economy,
TES grew rapidly and continued to develop the skill sets required
to be a resource for local manufacturers. During this period, parts
support, field service and Applications Engineering all developed
to provide a higher level of support to our customers. Further expansion
occurred in 2001 when TES acquired the distribution rights to the
Makino brand of equipment throughout the 3 state region.
Manufacturing technology has changed dramatically
over the past 50 years. Our commitment to helping you to increase
productivity and compete in a global marketplace remains unchanged.
Today, with facilities in Cincinnati, Cleveland, Fort Wayne, and
Indianapolis we can offer you the services that we set out to develop
over 50 years ago. If you are considering the purchase of a new
machine tool or a robotic work cell we hope that you will give us
